Katharine is a Scientific Adviser at the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE), in the UK. Katharine works in the Science Policy and Research team, where she supports and manages specific tasks within a range of EU grant-funded projects that NICE is partnered on. This includes ERA4TB, HARMONY, HARMONY PLUS and IDERHA (Integration of Heterogeneous Data and Evidence towards Regulatory and HTA Acceptance). Within these projects, Katharine predominantly focuses on ensuring that the Health Technology Assessment (HTA) perspective has been considered, and that there is appropriate engagement and involvement of HTA organisations.
Prior to joining NICE, Katharine worked across the University of Manchester and Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust supporting patient involvement in health research, specifically cancer prevention and early detection, precision medicine and pregnancy loss research. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Medical Science and has recently completed a Master’s in Public Health.
