Regulatory Lead
BSI
Sarah Mathew is a Regulatory Lead on behalf of BSI's AI Notified Body. Her responsibilities building capability within BSI as a leader in AI accreditation and designation, as well include engaging in international policy forums. She is a technical committee member of the US' NIST AI Safety Institute and the CENELEC Artificial Intelligence Joint Technical Committee 21.
Prior to her current role, Sarah was a Technical Specialist and Scheme Manager with BSI’s Active Implantable Medical Device Group, where she performed and led conformity assessments. Her earlier career included electronics engineering, power systems, wireless communications, and memory storage design. She was previously employed by Medtronic, Abbott, Boston Scientific, Harvard Medical School's Wyse Institute, and MIT's Francis Bitter Magnetics laboratory. Sarah received her bachelor's from Olin College of Engineering of Engineering with a full tuition Presidential Merit Scholarship.
